Research on Effects of Grinding Aids in Wet Ultrafine Grinding of Mineral
Effects of grinding aids in wet ultrafine grinding of mineral were studied by investigating influence of sodium stearate on ground calcium carbonate (GCC) — viscosity of water ore slurry and surface free energy change of solid particles because of adsorption of sodium stearate on the surface of GCC as well as the effect on ultrafine grinding of GCC in wet stirring mill. The results showed that effect of grinding aid is due to the improvement of rheological property of mineral slurry and the lower surface free energy of solid particles because of adsorption. The former is more important than the latter one.
