  • Polyethylene Naphthalate (PEN) is a high performance, melt spun thermoplastic polyester (100% synthetic polymer). Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is now being replaced in many areas by PEN, due to its superior thermal, mechanical, barrier and chemical resistance properties. The current paper reviews PEN in terms of its synthesis, manufacture, properties and its various applications in relation to PET. This paper also includes current research studies on PEN.
