The Casino Pipeline
The Casino pipeline conveys raw gas from the Casino subsea wells to the Iona gas plant and includes a crossing of the coast and a large creek. The complex well path and multiphase flow required detailed analysis to confirm pipeline capacity and prediction of slug and surge flow from the pipeline. Extensive hydraulic modelling was performed. The actual pipeline performance has been assessed against field history and shows good agreement with prediction. The performance of the pipeline has been an important parameter in the planned expansion of the Casino system to incorporate recent gas discoveries in the region.
The presentation will cover the key design issues associated with the pipeline, predicted performance and the match with actual performance.
